Displacement
Richard Dinges, Jr. Mourning dove swoons, a mournful reed in cool morning breeze, displaced by Russian dove’s harsh monotone kazoos. We lose even this one small reminder of childhood on a porch swing surrounded by gray wood exposed behind peeling paint and sun sets against long shadows drawn by dove’s long slow croon. |
